The Overview

2015 was a great year for football in WA with both local teams finishing the season in positions one and two on the ladder and enjoying the advantage of home ground finals.
To help loyal footy fans show support for their team, The Sunday Times offered readers a Fremantle Dockers or West Coast Eagles temporary tattoo with their purchase of the paper. Our role was to spread the word.

The Work

The idea was simple and fun. While there are heaps of ways to support your team in the finals, real fans show their support with a tattoo. We commissioned a set of contemporary illustrations in local club colours that included everything from crazy wigs to giant hands, and set them against a stylised footy stadium backdrop. The tattoos were the heroes of the show. The weekend saw a resulting uplift in sales, and both local teams continued their march through the finals supported by loyal WA fans and The Sunday Times.
